Xabier Rodríguez Martínez

UDC-InTalent Associate Researcher.

Xabier Rodríguez completed his PhD in Materials Science at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in 2020. He did a postdoc in Linköping University (Sweden) and earned a Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship to work in Heidelberg University (Germany). From July 2024, he is UDC-InTalent Associate Researcher.

His research interests are advanced (high-throughput) solution processing methodologies, spectroscopy and machine-learning methods applied onto experimental datasets. His current research focus is on understanding the relationship between photoactive layer microstructure and stability in organic solar cells.

Matteo Sanviti

Post-doctoral researcher

Matteo Sanviti graduated in industrial chemistry at the University of Bologna in 2019.
He earned his doctorate in Physics of Nanostructures and Advanced Materials at the Material Physics Centre (University of País Vasco) in San Sebastián.
His research primarily explores advanced functional materials for organic electronic applications.
The focus of his current postdoctoral investigation is the study of internal structure, degree of order, and dynamics of advanced polymer materials.

Jorge Luis Olmedo Martínez

Post-doctoral researcher

Jorge Olmedo studied Chemical engineering (2013) at the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, in México. In 2016 he received the Master’s degree in Materials Science from Centro de Investigación en Materiales Avanzados S. C. (CIMAV), in Chihuahua, México. In 2022, he completed his Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

After his PhD, Jorge carried out post-doctoral studies at the POLYMAT institute, in San Sebastián, Spain from February 2022 to November 2024. Since December 2024, he joined CITENI as a post-doctoral researcher. His research focuses on the miscibility, structure, morphology, and crystallization kinetics of different polymeric systems for organic solar cells.

Jesika Asatryan

Pre-doctoral researcher

Jesika is a materials engineer specialized in Polymer Physics and Rheological analysis of complex materials at the universities of Sorbonne Paris Cité and A Coruña.

She aims at understanding properties of semiconducting polymers (thermal, mechanical, electrical, barrier, etc.)  on the basis of the semi-paracrystalinity framework

Josep Tent Pérez

Pre-doctoral researcher

Josep is a chemical engineer graduated on the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

After the completion of his bachelor's degree, he went on to earn the M. SC on chemical engineering at the University of Granada (UGR). Josep aims at understanding the relationship between processing conditions and microstructure as well as the thermotropic behaviour of thin-film semiconductor polymers.

Mª de los Ángeles (Marián) Prada Cortés

Pre-doctoral researcher

After graduating and obtaining a Degree in Chemistry by the University of Málaga, Marián went on to get a Master’s Degree in Applied Chemistry by the Universities of Málaga, Córdoba, Jaén and Huelva, with a specialization in surface characterization. Her ultimate research goal would be the better understanding of the structure and properties of organic polymers by their analysis using atomic force microscopy.
She spends her spare time as an activist, aiming for a better world through the sharing of kindness and knowledge.

Alberto Peinador Veiga

Pre-doctoral researcher

Alberto earned Physics and Chemistry BScs from Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, sparking his interest in materials science. He further pursued this interest during his MSc at Universidad de Sevilla, where he discovered and explored energy harvesters developing triboelectric nanogenerators. Currently working on his PhD on organic solar cells, he focuses on the structure of donor polymer and small molecule acceptor blends as well as their thermal stability. His research aims to advance understanding and drive the development of green energy technologies.

Paula Gallardo Santos

Pre-doctoral researcher

Paula Gallardo graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Málaga (UMA) in 2020. She then pursued a Master’s in Advanced Techniques in Chemistry at the University of Valladolid (UVa), where she specialized in the synthesis and characterization of liquid crystals.
Currently, she is working on her doctoral thesis, focusing on the solid-state processing of the semiconductor polymer P3HT. Her research aims to determine how this processing method influences the mechanical and barrier properties of the material compared to conventional solution processing.
